Who we are

Aakar Publication publishes and sells Gujarati books. This policy covers our website, aakarpublication.com, and our staff app, Aakar CRM. It explains what personal information we handle and why.

Information we handle on the website

• Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message, so that we can reply.
• Newsletter: your email address, to send news about our books. You can ask us to remove it at any time.
• Orders: your name, phone number, delivery address, the books you order and the payments we receive, so that we can deliver your order and keep accounts.
• Sign-in: if you sign in with your phone number, the number is verified by a one-time code through Google Firebase.
• Language: a cookie that remembers whether you read the site in Gujarati or English.
• Site speed: anonymous page-speed measurements. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Aakar CRM app

Aakar CRM is an internal app for Aakar Publication staff. Only accounts created by Aakar Publication can sign in; there is no public sign-up.

• Staff account: the email address and password used to sign in.
• Customer records entered by staff: name, phone number, email, postal address, PIN code, notes, book club membership, orders and payments.
• Phone contacts: if you allow it, the app reads your contacts so that you can pick one person when adding a customer. Only the contact you pick is saved. Your contact list is not uploaded.
• Images: book covers and blog images you choose to upload.
• Reminders: reminder dates and text you create. Notifications are shown on your device.

The app has no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.

How we use information

Only to run Aakar Publication: answering messages, taking and delivering book orders, recording payments, sending book club books and keeping our catalogue up to date.

Where it is stored

In Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore, Firebase Authentication and Cloud Storage). The website is hosted on Vercel. Both act as our service providers. Data is encrypted in transit, and customer records can be opened only by signed-in Aakar Publication admin accounts.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with courier or postal services that need a name, address and phone number to deliver an order, and where the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep records while they are needed for orders, accounts and legal obligations. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or to delete an account, by writing to aakarnishith@gmail.com. We will act on the request within 30 days, except for records we are required by law to keep.

Children

Our website and app are not directed at children under 13, and the app is for adult staff only.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
